Lola Smith- Whitaker

December 22, 1933- October 16, 2025

Lola Smith Whitaker of Wenatchee passed away peacefully at her home in Wenatchee on Oct 16th, 2025. Lola was born on Dec 22, 1933 in Williston ND.

As a young girl her family moved to Preston WA and she graduated from Issaquah High School in 1951. She married Lyle Smith of North Bend shortly after high school and had 6 kids before she turned 30. She was a devoted mother and wife. She was a talented seamstress, singer, landscaper, loved to dance and make jewelry. The family of 8 also loved to travel. She was widowed in 1980 and remarried in 2000 to Glenn Whitaker of Wenatchee, WA. She was blessed to have Glenn in her life for 12 years until his passing.

Lola is survived by her 4 daughters, Lenora, Twyla, Lyla and Lynelle, and son Clinton. 3 grandkids, Josh, Brandy and Christina and 1 great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by husband’s Lyle and Glenn and her beautiful daughter Lorelei.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm, on Saturday, Nov 1, 2025 at Hillside Cemetery in Issaquah. All are welcome. A celebration of Lola’s life will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, Nov. 5th 2025, in the hospitality room at Avamere Assisted Living (COGIR), 1550 Cherry St., Wenatchee. All are welcome.
