Lena M. Jennings

Lena M. Jennings of North Bend, WA died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Providence Marianwood Nursing Home in Issaquah WA. She was 93. Lena was born on February 15, 1918 in New Castle, PA. Lena was employed as a seamstress for Strouss, New Castle, PA and May Co. in California. She was a licensed beautician teacher; teaching at the New Castle School of Beauty and schools in L.A. and Hollywood, CA. Lena was a lifelong artist working with both watercolors and oil, and participated in a number of art exhibits. In addition, she enjoyed traveling and photography. She loved visiting family and friends. Lena was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in North Bend, WA. She was active in the Mt. Si Senior Center and was a member of the Camera Club, Artist Group and many other activities. She enjoyed sharing her art work and knowledge at Providence Marianwood. Lena is survived by her son, Edward L. (Kathy) Jennings, North Bend, WA; sister, Rose Bunemann, New Castle, PA; and grandchildren, Edward J. (Debbie) Jennings, Shelton, WA; Janet (Mike) Pennock, Mogadore, OH; and Michael Jennings, Maple Valley, WA. Lena was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Arrangements will be handled by Bleitz Funeral Home, Seattle, WA. Lena requested no service be held. A family memorial will be held at a future time. Burial will be in the family plot in Graceland Cemetery Garden of the Lilies, New Castle, PA. Service will be held in Graceland Chapel.
