Julie Aydelotte

Julie Aydelotte has always been the best mother any child could ask for, though she left behind two children, Tyler (20) and Alexis (18).Born in 1958 in Oakland, CA, Julie and her brother Jeff grew up listening to the Grateful Dead and spending summers on Lopez Island. She knew how to cause trouble in the best of ways with a contagious smile on her face.Julie and her brother came home to Bellingham in 1976 to attend WWU, where Julie made countless friends she would keep for the rest of her life. She conquered the boats and canneries of Alaska as a young woman. Julie was HR director of Icicle Seafoods in Seattle for 17 years before returning to Bellingham in 2004 with her children to be closer to their family. Most recently, Julie worked at Cascade Dafo where she could not have enjoyed her job more.Julie is survived by her loving aunt and uncle, Elizabeth Hughes Alpaugh and Leon Alpaugh, who supported and cared for their niece. She is survived by her mother, Alene Tomich, her father, Robert Hughes, and her brother Jeffrey Hayward-Hughes (Cathy).Julie lost her second battle with breast cancer on Friday, 6/19/09 surrounded by her family and so many loyal friends. Her strength and invincible appreciation for the good times was always shared and will be carried on by all who were fortunate enough to know her. We love you, Julie.
