Joy Lenore Ferrier, of North Bend, passed away at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue on Saturday, July 18, 2009. She was 69 years old.Joy was born on April 15, 1940 in Seattle, Washington, the youngest daughter of Benjamin and Katharine Beach. She was raised in Seattle, Washington. She met John Theodore Ferrier in 1953 when she was 13 years old. After graduating from high school she married Johnny and the two built their home in North Bend, Washington where together they raised their three children: John, Jamey, and Julie.After Johnny passed away in 1982, Joy worked for the North Bend Shoprite, later QFC, eventually becoming the bakery/deli manager. After her retirement, she continued to work part time in the QFC deli. Joy is known for having been a loving and devoted mother, a dedicated and loyal employee as well as a compassionate friend. In addition to her husband and parents, Joy was preceded in death by her brother Benny Beach, and her sisters Kay Lamper and Shirley Barber.Survivors include her son John and daughter-in-law Teresa Ferrier of Enumclaw; son Jamey Ferrier of North Bend; daughter Julie and son-in-law Fritz Gere of Enumclaw; grandchildren Matthew and Esther Gere of Enumclaw; and sister Peggy Greenstreet of Milton, Washington.A funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home, 540 E Sunset Way, Issaquah. A committal service will follow at Mt Si Memorial Cemetery.
