JAMES RAY ROETCISOENDER

In Loving Memory of

James Ray Roetcisoender

February 1, 1932 – March 4, 2018

James (Jim) Ray Roetcisoender was born on February 1, 1932 at his home on the family dairy farm in Duvall, WA. It was too snowy that day for his mother to get to the doctor- so Jim came into the world in the house that he would eventually leave the world in 86 years later. Jim was born to Hilke and Frances Roetcisoender and was raised with six siblings and learned early the value of hard work. He also learned how to play hard when you weren’t working and to enjoy each moment.

Jim joined the Army in 1952 to serve his Country in the Korean War. When he returned home, it wasn’t long before he met Noma Arrants whom he married in 1956 and would be his wife for the next 62 years. Jim and Noma worked hard on the farm where they raised their two sons Jamey and Jason. Life isn’t easy on a Dairy Farm, but Jim knew how to relax. He loved to hunt and fish and he and Noma enjoyed many years on their boat the “Udder Bliss” cruising the San Juan Islands. During this time Jim also served many years on the local School board, the Sate ASCS committee and was a founding member of Valley Community Bank.

In 1991 Jim and Noma built a home in Mexico and began enjoying their years of retirement in the sunshine. Many fish were caught, golf balls hit and friends enjoyed. Jim certainly knew how to have a good time, telling stories and playing jokes on people. Jim will be missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Hilke & Frances and his older brother John. Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years Noma, his sons Jamey and Jason (Kerrie), his grandchildren Michael, Randi & Wyatt, his sisters Clare (Richard), Leone (George), Kay, Sharon (Gary), his brother Dale and many nieces and nephews.

Jim’s Celebration of Life will be Saturday March 17th @ 1:00 PM at Blue Boy Golf Course in Monroe, WA. All are welcome.

In Lieu of flowers- donations may be made to the Duvall Fire Department.
