Youth forum open to middle school students

Snoqualmie Valley Community Network announced the ninth annual "Be the Change" Summit for middle school students, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Tolt Middle School.

Snoqualmie Valley Community Network announced the ninth annual “Be the Change” Summit for middle school students, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Tolt Middle School.

Students will spend the morning and afternoon with Luis Ortega, a leadership development speaker and facilitator with experience working in more than 100 schools across the United States.

Student leaders from throughout the Valley helped identify topics for this year’s breakout sessions, which will include: Stress and mindfulness; celebrating difference; suicide prevention; drug awareness; bullying prevention and staying safe online.

Both teen facilitators and Snoqualmie Valley professionals will be on hand to offer these sessions.

Breakfast and lunch will be served at this free community event. Participants will also receive a free T-shirt.
