Construction workers with Seattle-based general contractor Skanska broke ground last Wednesday on the new Casino Snoqualmie.
Following a private blessing by the Snoqualmie Tribe on Saturday, Feb. 17, crews got rolling on the $330 million, 170,000-square-foot first phase of the casino, located on North Bend Way Southeast near Interstate 90’s Exit 27.
“We are ahead of schedule,” said Michael Barozzi, chief executive officer for Snoqualmie Entertainment Authority, which is owned by the Tribe.
If all goes according to plan, the Northwest’s newest casino will open in November 2008.
“We have very high hopes for this project,” Barozzi said. “Our goal is to open on time, or earlier, and on budget.
“The ground blessing was the most important thing for the Tribe, and that occurred prior to opening up the land,” Barozzi said.
