A 51-year-old North Bend woman was seriously injured in a two-car wreck Friday, Oct. 27, on 436th Avenue Southeast at the Interstate-90 overpass.

At about 5 p.m., the victim’s Lexus was struck by a 2004 Honda Civic, driven by a 21-year-old Snoqualmie woman, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office. The names of the individuals involved were not released.

The Honda apparently was traveling eastbound on I-90 and took the exit at 436th, then struck the Lexus – which was driving northbound on 436th Avenue – at the top of the exit ramp, according to the sheriff’s department.

The Civic had two passengers: a 21-year-old Preston man and a 19-year-old North Bend man.

The driver of the Honda was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault. She was booked into the King County Jail where she remained as of Oct. 30.

Charges had not yet been filed.

Speed and alcohol appear to have been contributing factors in the collision, according to the sheriff’s office.
