Woman drowns in Snoqualmie River near Fall City

Drowning happened Thursday, June 13, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

A woman died while paddle boarding in the Snoqualmie River on June 13, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

A preliminary investigation found a woman in her 50s was paddle boarding with family members near Fall City when she was caught on a snag in the water. The woman was rescued, and lifesaving measures were performed, but she died shortly after, officials said.

King County officials reported earlier this month that they have seen a “concerning number” of drownings and close calls so far this year.
