During imminent flood events, sand and sandbags are made available for the public at a downtown location, usually the corner of King and Railroad. Citizens need to bring a shovel and bag the sand themselves. When sand is not provided downtown, citizens can generally pick it up at the Public Works Facility when a flood is predicted.
