In an unusual occurrence, the Snoqualmie Valley has seen snow — and snow plows — each day since Sunday. Read below to find out how each valley town deals with wintery weather.
Snoqualmie
Snoqualmie has several trucks equipped with plows and sanders to work its approximately 40 miles of roads. The roads are cleared in a priority order, with priority A including main roads, like Snoqualmie Parkway and Railroad Avenue SE, as well as school routes.
Snoqualmie’s map of snow plow routes, labeled by priority, can be found at bit.ly/3EmJXJF.
North Bend
North Bend has four snow plows that clear streets in a specific priority order. Priority one roads include Bendigo Boulevard and North Bend Way. Only once priority one roads are clear can Public Works staff move to clearing priority two roads, and so on.
During snowy weather, the city also puts down a mixture of sand and salt, mainly on priority one roads, roundabouts, intersections and hilly areas.

Fall City
As Fall City is unincorporated, its snow removal is the responsibility of King County. The county has a map of snow plow routes organized by category. Preston-Fall City Road, as well as the stretch of SR 202 from Fall City to Snoqualmie, are in category one. The county generally devotes more resources to category one roads, but based on road conditions and emergency response, roads in other categories could be prioritized.

Carnation
Carnation will begin plowing snow when there is 3 inches or more of accumulation on the ground. Snow plows start with arterial (main) roads, then continue to collector roads, neighborhood roads and cul-de-sacs.

Duvall
Duvall has two small snow plows and one big one, aptly named the Abominable Snow Plow. The snow route covers the main roads within city limits and is designated with snow route signage around town (look for the blue snowflake).
