Walk the dog, with a purpose this Saturday at Bark for Life

It is a team event, and a fundraiser for cancer research, but it’s not Relay for Life. It’s Bark for Life, a day of fun for dogs and their owners, organized by Mount Si High School’s Key Club, in support of Relay for Life.

It is a team event, and a fundraiser for cancer research, but it’s not Relay for Life. It’s Bark for Life, a day of fun for dogs and their owners, organized by Mount Si High School’s Key Club, in support of Relay for Life.

From noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, participants can bring their furry best friends to Snoqualmie Elementary School’s track for music, food, doggy dress-up contests and other games, guest dog demonstrations and, of course, walking the mile-long “relay.” Admission is $10 per participating pooch.

The American Cancer Society Bark for Life is a fundraising event honoring the lifelong contributions and unconditional love of canine caregivers, whether they are working dogs or just companions.

Sponsors of Bark for Life will have booths set up in the school bus loop. Sponsorship costs $75, plus contribution of an item for the event’s silent auction.

Relay for Life 2016 teams are also welcome to set up booths for fundraising, at no cost.

You’ve got to walk the dog anyway.

Sponsoring businesses include Civilized Nature Pet Supplies, Hobbytown USA, Riverdog, Carmichaels True Value, MudBay, Baxter Barn and Dr. Anderson at Snoqualmie Ridge Veterinary Hospital.

Businesses interested in sponsorships can contact organizer Joe Dockery, (425) 831-8126.
