The voters’ decision in the upcoming primary election, Tuesday, Aug. 21, will affect more than just their pocketbooks.

To Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Administrator Roger McCollum, the vote decides the future of health care in a Valley that’s rapidly growing and changing.

King County Hospital District 4 asks Valley voters to approve a 30 cent lid lift on their property tax levy. The hospital district’s current levy is 45 cents per $1,000 in property value. If the lift is approved, a homeowner would pay $300 annually on a home valued at $400,000.

Ballots are being mailed out this week by the King County Elections Department.
