Former Snoqualmie resident Brook Ian Martin received a doctorate as a health sciences researcher last February from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Martin is a 1988 graduate of Mount Si High School. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in physical fitness management from the University of Oregon, and a master’s degree in public health, also from the University of Washington.

He is the author of several articles regarding cost and outcome of treatment for chronic back pain that have appeared in medical journals.Martin recently accepted an appointment to the faculty of Dartmouth college in Hanover, N.H.
