Metropolitan King County Councilmember Kathy Lambert announced Friday, Feb. 26, that 11 organizations in the Snoqualmie Valley have received 2015 Community Service Area grants from King County.

Grant recipients include:

• Fall City Community Association, a contribution toward a portable projector;

• SnoValley Tilth, a contribution to support “Community Roots Day” at the Carnation Market;

• Snoqualmie Valley Community Network, a contribution to support a leadership summit for youth;

• Mount Si Senior Center/Snoqualmie Valley Transit, a contribution for SnoValley Transportation community planning and engagement;

• Fall City Metropolitan Park District, a contribution for portable toilet rentals at Olive Taylor Quigley Park;

• Si View Metropolitan Park District, a contribution for promoting the North Bend Market;

• Sno Valley Senior Center, a contribution toward new carpeting.

The grants are awarded to projects throughout unincorporated King County that “…offer unincorporated area residents in the Community Service Areas an opportunity to participate and be more informed and connected in their communities.”

“I’m very pleased that so many of the deserving organizations in the Snoqualmie Valley have been awarded grants,” said Lambert. “These grants are often the seed money that makes sure the projects are completed.”

The grants require a community match of at least one-fourth of the total project and cannot total more than $5,000 to any one organization.

Additional grants will be available next year. Applications will be available in late fall.
