Valley lines cut

Some 15,000 residents of North Bend, Fall City, Carnation, Snoqualmie and Snoqualmie Pass lost their phone service, DSL and some cell phone service last Friday around 1:30 p.m. when Potelco power and telephone company workers accidentally cut a major CenturyTel cable next to the Meadowbrook Bridge (above). Potelco is a contractor that works for Puget Sound Energy. According to Jack Ryan, area plant supervisor for CenturyTel, service was back up and running within one hour for all but 600 affected users, who had their service restored by 6:45 p.m. that evening.
