Valley in flood warning area for most of Tuesday; schools cancel afternoon activities

In Snoqualmie, the Meadowbrook Bridge is closed, as well as the road leading to it: S.E. Mill Pond Road, from S.R. 202; and S.E. Reinig Road from 396th Drive to the bridge. In North Bend, Boalch Avenue N.W. between N.W. 14th St and the city limits, and Mount Si Boulevard, between the Arby’s restaurant and the Safeway gas station, are closed.

The city of North Bend has provided sand and sand bags, free of charge, at the Public Works Shop located at 1155 E. North Bend Way.

The King County Flood Warning Center has also opened and is monitoring river levels. The Snoqualmie River is currently in Phase 3 and the Tolt is in Phase 2.

Snoqualmie Elementary School has canceled after-school activities due to the weather. All buses will run on their regular schedules, except Route 23, which will deliver students in reverse order, since the Meadowbrook Bridge is closed.

All after-school activities at Tolt Middle School in Carnation have been canceled and Cedarcrest High School has postponed its football banquet, scheduled for tonight. Winter sports athletes will be excused from practices, if needed.
