Unidentified male found floating in Snoqualmie River

Detectives believe he was in the water for three or four days.

At 4:20 p.m. on March 9 a kayaker was paddling along the Snoqualmie River and noticed what appeared to be a body tangled in debris. The kayaker made their way to Sandy Cove Park and asked an individual to call 911.

Detectives from the Snoqualmie Police Department responded. The King County Marine Unit assisted the department in retrieving the body.

The deceased person is a light-skinned male of an unknown age, and was believed to be in the river for about three or four days.

“There were no obvious signs of [foul play],” said Captain Nick Almquist of the Snoqualmie Police Department.

No missing persons reports were filed in Snoqualmie, North Bend, or King County.

As of 9 a.m. on March 10, detectives were working with the King County Medical Examiner waiting for autopsy results.
