U-Haul theft leads to Snoqualmie collision

Arrests made after chase with KCSO, Snoqualmie officers.

The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) requested the assistance of Snoqualmie police on April 22 in its pursuit of a stolen U-Haul truck that refused to pull over and yield.

The stolen truck was seen last in the Lake Alice neighborhood in Fall City and appeared suspicious. After a 911 call was made, KCSO deputies located the vehicle and attempted to pull it over. The truck, failing to pull over in Fall City, fled on state Route 202 toward Snoqualmie.

After entering Snoqualmie, police officers with the Snoqualmie department attempted to use tire deflation devices in an effort to stop the vehicle. The driver maneuvered around the obstacles and side-swiped two cars. A driver in another car attempted to ram the U-Haul but was unsuccessful. There were no injuries during the pursuit.

Because of tire damage on the U-Haul, the driver and another occupant stopped the truck and fled on foot. Officers eventually arrested the pair — an adult male and female from Federal Way — without further incident.

The male suspect was booked on several hit-and-run counts, theft of a motor vehicle, eluding police officers and unlawful imprisonment. The female was released at the scene.
