Two weekends of full S.R. 18 closures planned near Tiger Mountain

This weekend, Oct. 3 and 4, drivers who use State Route 18 near Tiger Mountain State Forest and Auburn should plan for major detours. The highway will be closed in both directions, Oct. 3 and 4, and again Oct. 17 and 18, for paving, guardrail and tree removal work, weather permitting.

Specific lane closures are planned for the following dates and times:

  • 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 3 – Westbound 18 from I-90 to Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast;
  • 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 3 – Westbound 18 from Southeast 304th Place to Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road, the right lane will remain closed until 4 p.m;
  • 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 4 – Eastbound 18 from Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast to I-90;
  • 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 17 – Westbound 18 from I-90 to Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast;
  • 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 17 – Westbound 18 from Southeast 304th Place to Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road, the right lane will remain closed until 4 p.m; and
  • 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 18 – Eastbound 18 from Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast to I-90.

A signed detour will be in place during all closures. During westbound closures, drivers on Snoqualmie Parkway and I-90 who wish to go west on S.R. 18 will be detoured onto westbound I-90 near Snoqualmie. All traffic on westbound S.R. 18 in Covington will be detoured onto State Route 516. For eastbound closures, vehicles less than 30,000 pounds will be detoured onto Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast, Newport Way Northwest, Northwest Maple Street, State Route 900 then I-90. Large vehicles must use State Route 167, Interstate 405 and I-90.
