Snoqualmie City Councilman Brad Toft announced on Monday, May 15, that he planned to run for Mayor of Snoqualmie.
Toft was elected to Position 4 on the city council in 2015.
He has said that his priorities as a mayoral candidate are creating a vision for the future of city, increased economic development efforts, and improved community outreach. He also promised to take a leadership role with youth and in public education.
“With 12 years of the same leadership, people want a choice in this year’s election,” Toft said. “It’s time for a new chapter in the city of Snoqualmie.”
Should Toft be elected mayor, the remainder of his council term would be filled by appointment.
Toft will run in a primary election against incumbent Matt Snoqualmie and former mayor Randy “Fuzzy” Fletcher. The primary election will be Tuesday, Aug. 1.
