Swedish Medical Center plans to have a presence in the Snoqualmie Valley as early as this winter.

The Seattle-based hospital is putting a primary clinic with space for up to six doctors at the Kimball Creek Professional Center on Snoqualmie Ridge, across from the Snoqualmie Fire Station.

“We want to provide services closer to the community,” project manager Susan Gillespie told the Valley Record. “It’s all part of the vision of Swedish being more than just a hospital downtown.”

Swedish is expanding its Eastside presence with a 175-bed, 550,000-square-foot hospital in Issaquah.

As the fastest-growing city in the state, “Snoqualmie is a good pull for us,” Gillespie said. “We see a lot of patients downtown from the Eastside.”

The 7,000-square-foot Snoqualmie clinic will have a mix of pediatricians, family practice doctors and internal medicine providers. Visiting specialists will come to the clinic on a rotating basis.

There will be X-ray capability, Gillespie said, and the new clinic will use Swedish’s digital records system.

Most medical procedures done at the clinic will be minor, such as casting bones or freezing warts. Major procedures will be done elsewhere.

At full buildout, the clinic is expected to have a staff of about 25.

The facility will be operated by Swedish Physicians’ Primary Care group, which is a division of Swedish Health Services.
