‘Survivor’ hopefuls get chance to audition in Snoqualmie

Are you one to hike the great outdoors for fun? Do you have the ability to swim? If you were dropped off in a remote location, with little food and few resources, would you have what it takes to survive?

If your answer to these questions is ‘Yes,’ you may be the ideal competitor for the next Survivor challenge.

Local reality TV hopefuls can prove their worth at an opening casting call for television’s “Survivor,” Saturday, Jan. 2, at Snoqualmie Casino.

Dangling the prospect of a spot on the cast and the chance to win $1 million, contestants will be taken on a first come first serve audition basis from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Washington applicants must be a minimum of 21-years-old and auditions will be one take only and must be 60-seconds or less.

Asked to fill out a contestant application, competitors will show their Survivor capabilities. Questions include “What would be the craziest, wildest thing you would do for a million dollars?”, “What skills do you bring to Survivor that would make you a useful member of the group?” and “If you were stranded who would you most want to be stranded with you?”

Attendees are welcome to bring a VHS tape of themselves to the casting call, but it is not required.

From the audition, producers will select a number of semi-finalists, who will be invited for a final round of interviews in Los Angeles.

About 16 finalists will be chosen for two cycles each, to compete and participate in the Survivor show.

CBS airs two cycles per year. Cycles 21 and 22 will be filmed in summer to fall of 2010 at a remote location yet to be determined.

• If you plan to attend the Snoqualmie Casino auditions bring a completed application form (including the signed Release and Waiver form); a signed Videographer Release by any individual who filmed or help film your video; copy or proof of a valid U.S. passport; a passport sized photo; three-minute video or DVD labeled clearly with your name and the number (1-10) that corresponds to the city nearest you.
