State seeks North Bend Shoreline Master Program update

By Valley Record Staff

North Bend’s Shoreline Master Program needs to be updated by 2011, as requested by the Washington State Department of Ecology.

Earlier this month, the city began the process by taking a shoreline inventory and examining the shores of the middle and south forks of the Snoqualmie River.

North Bend hired consultants to assist with shoreline analysis and regulatory review. The inventory includes a map portfolio and a report on its ecology.

The city asked community members to do their part by helping to obtain all relevant existing physical and biological information regarding the river forks, wetlands and other relevant basin information, City Administrator Duncan Wilson said.

Helpful information also included water quality analyses, and fish and wildlife distribution and habitat information.

The city hopes to have the inventory complete by Oct. 31.
