The Snoqualmie Valley YMCA/Community Center has announced that Greg Jamiel, founder and leader of Snovalley Pride, has been named a recipient of the 2025 Hero Everyday Award.
The award ceremony will take place at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA/Community Center, 35018 SE Ridge St., Snoqualmie. Community members are invited to join in this celebration and honor Greg’s work.
Greg has been recognized for his dedication to supporting and uplifting the 2SLGBTQ+ community in the Snoqualmie Valley. He is the driving force behind Snovalley Pride, creating inclusive spaces and meaningful events that foster 2SLGBTQ+ visibility and connection in the Snoqualmie Valley. Through his compassionate leadership and strong partnerships, Greg has helped build a more welcoming and supportive community in a rural area that lacked such resources. Greg exemplifies the Y’s core values by leading with respect, caring, honesty, and responsibility to create lasting positive change, according to a news release from the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA.
Each year, the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA/Community presents the Hero Everyday Award to youth, young adults, or adults who exemplify service, demonstrate Y values, and contribute meaningfully to their community in ways that promote social and economic equality.
“Greg’s work has created space for belonging, dignity, and celebration,” said Diana Reul, Executive Director of Snoqualmie Valley YMCA/Community Center, in a news release. “We are thrilled to honor him for the difference he makes every single day in the lives of others.”
