Snoqualmie Valley school bond lagging, North Bend fire station passing in early election results

Poll results released early Tuesday evening show North Bend’s joint bonds for a new fire station looking strong, but Snoqualmie Valley Schools’ bond measure for a new middle school failing to meet its supermajority requirement.

In the city of North Bend, Prop. 1, a $5 million measure to replace its aging fire station, had 72 percent approval, with 914 “yes” votes and 352 “no” votes.

In King County Fire District 38, the station bond was passing with 60 percent approval, or 1264 “yes” votes to 825 “no” votes.

Snoqualmie Valley School District’s Prop. 1, a $56 million bond measure, was not passing with 58.5 percent approval.

As of 8 p.m., 4,501 “yes” votes had been received, compared to 3,190 “no” votes.

The next vote count is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
