Snoqualmie police arrest suspect for narcotics and theft

Snoqualmie police arrested a Gig Harbor man with multiple theft and narcotics warrants, following a car chase on July 19.

At around 4 a.m. July 19, Snoqualmie Police observed a blue Honda Civic leaving the Twin Star car wash, heading north on Railroad Avenue. After running the vehicle’s license plate, the officer determined the vehicle had been reported stolen by the King County County Sheriff’s Office. According to police documents, the vehicle was registered to a resident of Blaine, Wash.

Just prior to the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Snoqualmie Parkway, officers turned on their lights to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect pulled away at an estimated 60 mph, according to documents. The stolen vehicle then lost control and crashed into a light pole about 200 yards prior to Better Loop Way, near the Snoqualmie Fire Department.

The light pole fell across both lanes of traffic. The vehicle then continued on down Snoqualmie Parkway toward Interstate 90. Another officer set up spike strips at the Center Street and Snoqualmie Parkway intersection. The suspect’s vehicle was found disabled in the middle of the roadway between southeast Swenson Drive and southeast Jacobia Street, according to documents.

When officers approached the vehicle, a man in the passenger seat was detained and was provided medical aid. After looking through dispatch, the suspect was found to have multiple warrants for his arrest. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot and could not be located by police after a search of the area.
