Snoqualmie mayor proclaims “Mun Day”

Mayor Matt Larson officially proclaimed Thursday, Sept. 24, as “Director Mun Day” in Snoqualmie.

Mun first brought international attention to Snoqualmie’s planning efforts by leading a delegation of 20 leaders from the Republic of Korea on a “quality of life” tour in Snoqualmie.

He moved his family here in April of 2008. His local efforts including helping in the creation of the Snoqualmie Sister Cities Association.

The Muns returned to Korea following a farewell ceremony at the Salish Lodge, where they shared stories, photos and received gifts from the city and local businesses.

“Director Mun, his wife, and his son have enriched our lives by exposing us to the rich customs, culture, and history of his country,” Larson said. “More importantly, we have experienced the generosity, kindness, and warmth of the Korean people. I will certainly welcome back Director Mun at any time, not just as a colleague, but as a friend.”
