Snoqualmie food drive nets 6,000 lbs for the holidays

The Snoqualmie Firefighters Association Santa Parade received more than 6,000 lbs of food for the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank this holiday season.

The food was donated by hundreds of Snoqualmie residents, and was enough to completely fill an 18-foot trailer. A press release from the city of Snoqualmie said food was collected from driveways by firefighters, police officers and Phoebe the Firedog.

“At a time when so many people are struggling, residents turned out to support their neighbors in need,” said Snoqualmie Fire Chief Mark Correira in a press release.

The Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank is located in North Bend and serves residents of Snoqualmie, North Bend, Fall City and Preston. It offers curbside pick-up on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. More information about its services can be found online at www.snoqualmievalleyfoodbank.org or by calling 425.888.7382.
