They may not have always agreed, but residents of Snoqualmie had something to say about a possible ban on fireworks within city limits.

The city of Snoqualmie’s Public Safety Committee, which is planning to make a recommendation on the possibly of banning the use and sale of fireworks, heard from about 20 residents during a public meeting held Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Snoqualmie Fire Station.

The ban is being considered because residents came forward and asked the city to explore it.

The issue is something of a tinderbox for many residents, who feel strongly for, or against, a ban.

A ban would make city fireworks rules easier to enforce, said Snoqualmie City Councilman Jeff MacNichols.
