Snoqualmie Fire Association gives scholarships to two Mount Si grads

Winners Lauren Kremer and Anna Findlay were each given a $1,500 scholarship

Mount Si graduates Lauren Kremer and Anna Findlay were each awarded $1,500 scholarships from the Snoqualmie Firefighters Association, the city announced in a statement last week.

Kremer and Findlay both graduated from Mount Si last June and will attend college this fall. Findlay will attend UCLA and Kremer will attend Whitworth.

“The Snoqualmie Firefighters Association would like to congratulate both scholarship winners for their hard work and dedication. We wish them success in their upcoming journeys,” said Josh Demetrescu of the Snoqualmie Firefighters Association Scholarship Committee.

The Snoqualmie Firefighters Association is a non-profit organization of both career and volunteer firefighters and EMTs. The association supports the Snoqualmie Fire Department’s goals with special equipment requests as well as community events, education, and outreach.

The Association raises scholarship funds primarily through donations at their annual Pancake Breakfast and silent auction. The scholarship program allows the association to provide financial assistance to local college-bound students who intend to pursue a degree in the fields of fire science, medicine, or police and criminal justice.

“We would like to express our gratitude for the continued support the association receives from the Snoqualmie community, which makes these scholarships possible,” said Snoqualmie Firefighters Association Vice President Cat Cotton.
