Snoqualmie traffic was significantly interrupted Saturday morning, when a man claiming to have narcolepsy, a disorder that caused him to fall asleep unexpectedly, caused several collisions on Railroad Avenue, then crashed into a light pole. Police and fire personnel were called to provide a traffic detour, treat injuries and investigate the incident, reported at 10:50 a.m. Saturday.

Police reported that the man, driving a maroon Nissan Leaf at high speed eastbound on Railroad Avenue, first collided with the back of a Honda Accord, then veered across the road into oncoming traffic and hit a camper parked at a home and pushing it into a van also parked at the home. The Leaf then veered back into the right lane and then into a light pole. The car stopped in a ditch on the south side of Railroad Avenue at S.E. Fir Street.

A woman in the Honda Accord was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of apparent neck injuries. The man who was driving the Leaf was also transported to the hospital, for investigation of driving under the influence.
