Snoqualmie Middle School band teacher Dean Snavely said he would shave his head and let the students sign it if they raised at least $1,800 at a dance fund-raiser. The students ended up raising about $2,600. He was told by his doctor to not use permanent marker because of the potential for blood poisoning.
