Signing on

Snoqualmie Middle School band teacher Dean Snavely said he would shave his head and let the students sign it if they raised at least $1,800 at a dance fund-raiser. The students ended up raising about $2,600. He was told by his doctor to not use permanent marker because of the potential for blood poisoning. He had the students use washable markers and he sweated off the original signatures over that weekend, but allowed his students to resign his head on Nov. 23 as a holiday sendoff for the long
Thanksgiving break.
