Service for Irene Hallowell is Saturday at Fall City

Irene A. Hallowell, 90, of North Bend, died Friday, Oct. 18, in Issaquah. Irene moved to Snoqualmie Falls in 1943. During World War II, she worked for Weyerhaeuser Timber Co., pulling lumber on the green chain. She was also a school bus driver for many years.

Irene moved to Snoqualmie Falls in 1943. During World War II, she worked for Weyerhaeuser Timber Co.,  pulling lumber on the green chain.  She was also a school bus driver for many years.

Irene is survived by one son Harvey Oster of South Carolina, three daughters Vera Turnbull, of Auburn, Jonette Baer, of North Bend and Linda Buskirk of Snoqualmie; and brother Irvin Kirschenmann, of North Bend.

A graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Fall City Cemetery.
