Scout honored for flag project
North Bend Mayor Ken Hearing, left, presents Eagle Scout Jason Storm of Fall City a certificate of appreciation Jan. 16 for his donation of a flagpole to Torguson Park. Storm approached the city with his idea for a flagpole at the park, secured funds to purchase and erect the flagpole and coordinated volunteers and Scouts to complete the project. The flagpole is a 20-foot pole located between Field No. 2 and the parking lot. The pole is in line with the entrance to the park, located east of the Red Oak Residence off East North Bend Way; the entrance to Torguson Park is shared with the North Bend Athletic Facility.
