School bus, car collide on Mount Si Road; one injured

Monday morning at about 7 a.m. there was a collision involving a school bus with middle school students, and a car.

According to the police, there were no injuries to students on the bus. However, one student and the bus driver were taken to the hospital as a precaution. They were released later that day.

The driver of the car is a 27-year-old man from the North Bend area. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center where he was reported to still be in critical condition as of Tuesday morning.

The accident took place on Mount Si Road. The bus involved was Route 5 which had picked up 14 Twin Falls Middle School students. Upon arrival at the school, the students called their homes to notify their parents of their safety.

The King County Sheriff’s office responded to the incident and is investigating. Mount Si Road was closed for several hours Monday morning during the investigation.
