Saturday in the park: Pick your favorite painting

This is the thirteenth year of the Plein Air Paint Out (meaning to paint outdoors).

North Bend artist Britt Greenland was selected as this year’s Designated Plein Air Artist. On Aug. 28, she created two paintings in Sandy Cove Park in Snoqualmie honor of this year’s Railroad Days.

This is the thirteenth year of the Plein Air Paint Out (meaning to paint outdoors). The event is hosted by the Snoqualmie Arts Commission, which has a mission of nurturing a vibrant arts scene in Snoqualmie, and in collaboration with the Art Gallery of SnoValley.

Several downtown merchants are participating in this year’s Plein Air Poster Treasure Hunt by displaying posters in their businesses. To participate in the Treasure Hunt, note the year on the poster and the name of the store where it’s displayed. Use the QR code on any poster (or visit ArtGalleryofSnoValley.com) to enter the Treasure Hunt and a chance to win one of three gift baskets valued at $100 each. Winners will be contacted by email.

A collection of the original paintings will be on display through Sept. 5 at Falls Compounding Pharmacy. Posters may be purchased at the Art Gallery of SnoValley, located at 8130 Railroad Ave. SE.

Readers can go online to ArtGalleryofSnoValley.com to vote for their favorite Britt Greenland painting. The painting with the most votes will be honored as the Plein Air Paint Out Poster for 2022 and displayed in the Falls Compounding Pharmacy, located at 8112 Railroad Ave. SE, the first week of September.
