Safeway and Bartell Drugs coming to Snoqualmie’s new business development

Safeway and Bartell Drugs announced on Friday, June 24, that they will be the primary tenants moving into a new shopping center now under development on Snoqualmie Ridge.

Located on the corner of S.E. Douglas Avenue and Snoqualmie Parkway, the new shopping center will have a 43,000 square-foot grocery store, a 14,000 square-foot drug store, additional food businesses and a gas station.

In a press release from Bartell Drugs, Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson said the development will boost sales tax to help fund city operations.

“Not only will these new businesses help meet the needs of our residents, but the boost in sales tax will help support and protect our local city services,” Larson said.

Designed by Seattle-based Fuller Sears architects, the Safeway exterior is planned to match the look of the Ridge development.

The store is projected to employ up to 150 people in full and part-time positions.

Safeway is planning to open its doors next summer, with Bartell Drugs following in the fall.
