Recycling day set for April 26 at Mount Si

The city of North Bend invites residents to help clean up their community, at a recycling cleanup event, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Mount Si High School’s front parking lot. On that day, North Bend’s Public Works Department will accept the residential household materials below for recycling: styrofoam packing; clean, plastic one- and two-gallon plant pots; textiles and household goods (unacceptable items will be refused); used motor oil and filters; antifreeze; car, truck and marine batteries, and household batteries; tires: $1 each, $2 on rim, 5$ for a split rim, $10 for truck tires, truck tires with rims $20; electronics such as DVD players, VCRs and printers, $5; televisions, $20, large TV’s are $50; refrigerators and freezers, $20 each will be charged for safe removal of coolants; fluorescent lights: 50 cents. Scrap metal including hot water tanks, stoves, microwaves, washers, dryers, cast iron sinks and tubs, iron, steel and auto parts will be accepted.
