Preventing future slides

Work continues on stabilizing an area along State Route 202 that is prone to landslides, the most recent of which occurred in the Feb. 28, 2001, Nisqually Earthquake. Conducted by the Washington State Department of Transportation, rock is brought in to replace material prone to slides, and a water filtration system protects nearby Tokul Creek.
