Power company seeks changes at Falls

Puget Sound Energy asked the federal government to approve changes to the license that allows the company to operate the Snoqualmie Falls Power Plant.

PSE representatives brought an amended application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Washington, D.C., Dec. 6 seeking the changes. Since the early part of 2007, PSE sought input on its proposed changes from various interested parties including federal, state and local agencies, the Snoqualmie Tribe, nearby property owners and the public.

Overall, the input was positive, said Joel Molander, PSE hydro asset manager. Most wanted to have a reduced visual impact, something the proposed changes seek to accomplish, he said.
