POLICE BLOTTER | Theft of chicken and soda

The police blotter for Feb. 18-23.

Feb. 18

Foot pursuit: At 3:20 a.m. at the 76 Gas Station in North Bend, an officer observed two individuals rummaging through a vehicle. The officer ran the vehicle and noticed two protection orders associated with the car. The two individuals matched the description of individuals in the no contact order. When attempting to talk with the couple, the male ran away. The officer caught up and detained him several blocks away. The officer found drug paraphernalia on the male during a routine search.

Feb. 20

Slumped over wheel: At 7:46 a.m. at a Safeway, officers received reports of a male and female slumped over the wheel of their vehicle. Officers made contact and noticed drug paraphernalia on the floorboards. The male admitted to being a heroin user of 10 years, and they were both arrested on drug paraphernalia charges.

The ditch isn’t your driveway: At 6:34 p.m. on 38000 block of Southeast Northern Street officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch with a female driver stumbling away from it. Officers contacted the female who stated that she swerved to avoid an animal in the road, and that she lived nearby. Officers observed her slurred speech, and that she smelled of alcohol. The driver was arrested for DUI.

Feb. 22

Theft of chicken and soda: At 1:54 p.m. at Bartell Drugs, officers were advised of a theft in progress. The suspect left on foot with a six pack of soda. Officers contacted the male and were met with instant hostility. The suspect threw the items he was carrying on the ground and began yelling at officers, throwing his hands up in the air. Officers detained and calmed the male, who admitted to stealing chicken from Safeway earlier that day. He was arrested for theft and obstructing public servant.

Feb. 23

DUI: At 9:08 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on Snoqualmie Parkway near Douglas Avenue Southeast. The vehicle was going the wrong way. The female driver appeared to be “spacey” and was responding slowly. The officer observed a green leafy substance on her lap, which she stated was a “spice that she rubs on herself.” Field sobriety tests were conducted, and the female was taken into custody for DUI.
