SNOQUALMIE – Valley residents will get a chance to lie beneath the stars of the sky as they gaze upon the stars of the screen.

The city will host its first annual Snoqualmie Starlight Cinema this month at Sandy Cove Park, where a series of three movies will be shown with the great outdoors as a backdrop.

“We were just kicking around ideas and this one came up,” said Snoqualmie Arts Commission board member Gloria McNeely.

The idea for the outdoor cinema, as well as much of the help with it, was gained from a similar cinema that’s held in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle every summer.
