The city of North Bend proclaims Saturday, Oct. 17, as Arbor Day and invites citizens to a community tree planting event at 9 a.m. at the Tollgate Farm forest property. Join city staff, Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust staff, and community volunteers to plant native evergreen trees at the property, to help restore the health of the forest and re-establish a conifer canopy.

Cedarcrest High School’s cross country team competed at the Bellevue Invitational Saturday, Sept. 26, at Lake Sammamish State Park. The team has gone to this meet for many years, but saw a lot of new competitors this year, almost double, said Cedarcrest coach Bruce McDowell.
