Transient man: At 7:14 a.m., a caller reported seeing a man wrapped in blankets walking near Snoqualmie Middle School. An officer gave him bus fare.
• The Lower Snoqualmie Valley School District 407 has taken steps to correct health insurance overpayments despite rejection of a tentative contract by classified employees. The Public School Employees of the Lower Valley district have worked without a contract since the old pact expired on Aug. 31, 1982. A tentative agreement reached by union negotiators and district officials was rejected by the union membership on March 14.

A scholarship fund to benefit Valley students has been created in memory of Ryan K. Meehan, a 23-year-old Ravensdale resident, formerly of Fall City, who died Thursday, March 20, in a car accident near Maple Valley. The Ryan Meehan Memorial Scholarship Fund can be used toward the Wyoming Technical Institute’s upholstery program. Meehan attended the institute.
