Mark your calendars for a fall concert at The Nursery at Mount Si from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22. As part of an acoustic music showcase, the nursery will host the legendary award winning singer/songwriter Bill Staines during his travels to the Northwest from his home in Dover, N.H.

For over 25 years, Staines has packed his guitar, his songs, his stories and his talent as a performer into his car and headed out on three-month tours traveling and playing across the nation. Prior to his performance, festivities at the nursery will kick off at 1 p.m. with music from Snoqualmie Valley’s very own “Down the Road Band,” a trio featuring two acoustic guitars, a mandolin, voice and harmony. The concert will be outdoors at the nursery’s gazebo if weather is fair, or in a large greenhouse if rain threatens. To reserve a spot, e-mail nels@thenurseryatmountsi.com and plan on bringing along folding chairs. Refreshments will be provided.

As has been typical with concerts and arts programs at the nursery, a $10 donation per adult or $35 per family is requested to help support the events. Volunteers are needed to keep the shows coming and those who love music are needed to help with these types of programs.
