North Bend works on urban forestry plan

Published 9:39 am Tuesday, June 7, 2011

The North Bend Parks Commission will host a public workshop, 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at North Bend City Hall, to develop a vision statement regarding the city’s urban forest, including street trees and trees within parks and other public spaces.

Trees form an important part of North Bend’s character and identity, and the city is embarking on development of an Urban Forestry Master Plan to provide for the care and management of this resource.

This workshop will explore the economic, social and environmental values of trees, and will form a vision statement to guide the development of the goals and policies of the plan.
