A July 24 motorcycle accident near Fall City left a 47 year-old North Bend woman in serious condition.

According to a report from the Washington State Patrol, a Woodinville man driving eastbound on S.R. 202 reported that he witnessed the accident at 10:06 a.m.

According to reports, the man said he saw a lone motorcycle, westbound, near Fish Hatchery Road. It drifted across the center line into his lane, then overcorrected to swerve back into the westbound lane, but the driver had lost control of the bike. The witness said he passed the motorcycle, and watched in the rearview mirror as the driver hit the guardrail in the eastbound lane and was thrown from the motorcycle.

The witness began honking his horn to alert traffic, then turned around and began looking for the driver.

“She travelled 50 feet down the embankment,” reported Trooper Julie Judson.

Rescue workers rappelled down the hillside to rescue the woman, and Judson said “she was vacated pretty quickly” from the accident scene.

There was no indication of drugs or alcohol causing the accident, Judson said.
