North Bend seeks community input on future six-acre park

Si View Metropolitan Park District has put out a community survey regarding a future six-acre park near North Bend.

Snoqualmie Valley Riding Club, which shut down in 2017, donated the land to Si View last year. It is located at 13121 415th Way SE, just south of Interstate 90 near the Harman Heights neighborhood.

“The donated parcel is a most welcome addition to the community’s open space inventory and will enhance recreation options and access to parks for generations to come in an area of the district that has been identified as a park desert, lacking public access to developed park spaces,” according to Si View’s website.

The park will be developed with a master planning process, which has recently begun. Project consulting firm Site Workshop collected community thoughts at the Aug. 28 North Bend farmers market. On Sept. 16, Si View also held a public open house to collect ideas and feedback.

It is not yet determined what amenities the park will have, but according to the website, it will “continue to be community-focused, providing a space for recreation and educational programs, and serve as a multi-purpose facility for the local community.”

The community survey will be available through Oct. 31 and can be accessed at surveymonkey.com/r/7XZKWQB.
