North Bend road rage incident leads to man to chase driver with a 2X4 | Snoqualmie Valley police, fire blotter

On March 11, a caller in North Bend told Snoqualmie Police that a man was threatening him with a 2x4. The caller said the man was in a vehicle behind him as he drove into the storage business. He'd gotten very angry when the caller stopped his vehicle just inside the security gate of the business, forcing the follower to enter his code. When the man got inside, he took out a 2x4 and started chasing the caller, threatening him with it. The caller said he'd outrun the man so far, but didn't know where he was.

Sunday, March 9

Has vodka, no pants: At 9:28 p.m., an officer contacted a suspicious woman in a vehicle parked in the 400 block of East North Bend Way, North Bend. The woman was seen drinking vodka. She was not wearing any pants. The officer contacted the woman’s mother who picked her up and took her to AA.

Monday, March 10

Warrants: At 9:22 a.m., an officer was responding to a report of a suspicious person in the 8500 block of 384th Ave. Southeast, Snoqualmie, and contacted a woman known to have an arrest warrant. He arrested the woman and transported her to the Issaquah Jail.

Tuesday, March 11

Storage rage: At 5:43 p.m., a caller inside a business in the 44000 block of Southeast North Bend Way, North Bend, reported that a man was threatening him with a 2×4. The caller said the man was in a vehicle behind him as he drove into the storage business. He’d gotten very angry when the caller stopped his vehicle just inside the security gate of the business, forcing the follower to enter his code. When the man got inside, he took out a 2×4 and started chasing the caller, threatening him with it. The caller said he’d outrun the man so far, but didn’t know where he was.

Wednesday, March 12

Suspicious: At 12:47 a.m., an officer did an area check for a suspicious man seen walking around on the second floor of a building in the 7700 block of Center Boulevard Southeast, Snoqualmie. The man, described as a Hispanic in his 20s, evaded police, but was last seen heading toward the Echo Ridge Apartments.

Shoplift: At 8:10 p.m., a store employee called police to report a shoplift that occurred about 25 minutes earlier in the 400 block of East North Bend Way, North Bend. The caller described a bald white man, in his 20s, 5’11” and medium build, who stole a bag of charcoal.

Friday, March 7

Gas leak: At 5:59 p.m., firefighters responded to 290th Avenue Northeast for a report of natural gas in the residence.  Firefighters and a PSE employee secured the gas and ventilated the house.

Saturday, March 8

Smoke: At 3:59 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of smoke in a crawlspace. They found the basement full of smoke. An electrical fire was discovered and extinguished. One firefighter was evaluated at the scene after being shocked while in the crawlspace.

Monday, March 10

Car accident: At 12:17 p.m., firefighters responded to a two- vehicle collision on Duthie Hill Road, in which one vehicle then hit a concrete fire hydrant bollard.  One 40-year-old man was taken to an area hospital with a head injury.

River rescue: At 9:15 p.m., firefighters responded to the Snoqualmie River, just upstream from the Raging River, to help two people in a raft in distress.  Units from Duvall and Eastside Fire, along with King County Sheriff’s Officers,  assisted in a search of the Phase 3 flooded river. Officers found a man and a boy in wet suits who had gotten themselves out of the river.

Fall: At 9:31 a.m., firefighters responded to assist a 49-year-old woman, who had fallen from a chair and struck her head. Her profuse bleeding was controlled by firefighters and she was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation.

Thursday, March 6

Three-car accident: Snoqualmie firefighters responded with Fall City Fire to a three-car accident on Snoqualmie Parkway and Southeast Jacobia Ave. All drivers had minor injuries and  were left at scene with Snoqualmie Police.

Friday, March 7

Smoke smell: Snoqualmie firefighters responded to the Snoqualmie Ridge area for the smell of smoke in a residence. After investigation, the source of the smoke was located and cleaned up.

Two-car accident: Snoqualmie firefighters were dispatched to a two‚Äêcar motor vehicle accident at Railroad Avenue Southeast and Southeast Snoqualmie Parkway. Occupants of the vehicle were evaluated and their injuries were minor. They were left at the scene with Snoqualmie Police.

Monday, March 10

Car accident: Snoqualmie units were called into North Bend to assist with an auto accident at Park Street and Bendigo Boulevard. One person was treated for a back injury and taken to the hospital for further treatment.

Wednesday, March 12

Gas smell: Snoqualmie firefighters were called to the area of Fairway Avenue and Muir Street for a smell of natural gas. The smell was reported by a jogger in the area. Firefighters investigated but did not find the source. The smell had vanished, so units returned to quarters.

Truck accident: Snoqualmie firefighters responded with Eastside Fire and Rescue to I-90 just west of exit 25. A vehicle was hit by a semi‚Äêtruck. The driver of the car was treated for a back / neck injury as a precaution, and was taken to a local hospital.

Medical calls: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie firefighters responded to six (6) medical aid calls, bringing the total 2014 annual call number to 193.
